We left last Wednesday having discussed Hacker section A3 regarding the construction of arguments.
You should have read at least 4-5 pages of your Editing Team's essay. (Yes, you're all ETs. That is your Katy Perry reference for the day.) Your goal was the following:
1. Identify arguments. Identify those places in the essay where the author intended or attempted to construct an argument.
2. Identify false arguments. If it is a fallacious (false) argument, identify what kind of false argument it is.
3. Recommend possible fixes. For each argument, recommend possible directions for a fix. As the ET for the paper, you have complete control, and ultimately will be able to cut/replace/rewrite as you see fit.
In class, we'll spend some time in our ETs consolidating our individual findings, and lay out our "next steps" with these papers.
