We have three tasks for Thursday:
① Introduce the topic. What are programming languages, and why do we study them? Perhaps just as importantly, how will we be studying them?
② Introduce the course and the format. I want to make sure you understand the approach being taken this semester, as well as your responsibilities.
After class, please watch the following (cheezy, but relevant) video on pair programming. I want to have a discussion regarding pair programming, and for us to come to an understanding for how we might (or might not) implement this practice.
③ Grading. There will be several checkpoints early in the term, and you need to (1) know about them and (2) get working right now.
