Now is the time for all students of computing to consider that which is fundamental, timeless, and underscores all that we do: the structure of data, the foundations of software, that which organizes and binds. But the manipulation thereof is not free—nay, it has a cost—which we may compute and study unto itself. These pursuits, abstract though they may be, gird all that you will explore in the years to come.
Translation: we're going to look at data structures and algorithms. It should be good times. Pay attention.
